2025年5月2日，南方医科大学龚神海团队在Cell Host Microbe，IF=20.6上发表的论文“Cohabitation facilitates microbiome shifts that promote isoflavone transformation to ameliorate liver injury”，揭示中药单体刺芒柄花素抑制妊娠期脓毒症的免疫功能紊乱。

该团队通过对妊娠期小鼠和女性的肠道细菌进行多组学测序和同源重组技术研究，揭示了妊娠能够引起肠道粪副拟杆菌（P. merdae）及其衍生代谢物刺芒柄花素（FMN）的含量降低。FMN是一种常见的中药单体，主要存在于黄芪的根部、红车轴草的花序和带花枝叶、葛根、鸡血藤等中药材中，具有益气养阴的功效。本研究发现，FMN能够抑制脓毒症宿主的大量腹腔巨噬细胞发生焦亡（pyroptosis），增加腹腔巨噬细胞数量，从而杀灭入侵的病原体，降低脓毒症的死亡率。此外，该团队通过蛋白质组学和表面等离子体共振技术，成功鉴定巨噬细胞内异质核糖核蛋白UL2（hnRNPUL2）作为FMN的负向调控蛋白受体。在脓毒症期间，hnRNPUL2由胞内移位至胞核，并结合Nllrp3基因启动子区域，启动巨噬细胞焦亡。借助腺相关病毒技术敲低hnRNPUL2表达量，能够保护脓毒症小鼠的多器官衰竭并提高生存率。最后，该团队发现脓毒症病人粪便中P. merdae和FMN含量与患者疾病进程呈现负相关联系。
